Data Direct

Recharge Prepaid/Top Up data bundles DIRECTLY and PINLESS to your Vodacom 3G modem SIM.

NEW data rates from 1 June 2010.

Published: 2010/02/12

Buy airtime to the value of a specific data bundle size and VTime will recharge your SIM with the data bundle.  You will not receive Rands, but DATA.  VTime will do the conversion automatically for you!

Example: You buy R189 and we will automatically know that you want a 600 MB data bundle.  You will receive your data promptly and directly to your modem SIM.  An SMS will be sent to your 3G modem SIM to confirm that you have been recharged.

This is great news!  You will never have to convert Rands to data again!  You will never have to remove your SIM to a handset again.

Any amount not listed below will be recharged with airtime in Rands.

Just buy prepaid airtime to any specific value of a specific data bundle size and VTime will recharge your SIM with the data according to the table below:

Data Bundle Name: Subscription Charge: Data Bundle Size (MB): In-Bundle Rate/MB:
MyMeg 110 R 88 110 80c
My Meg 175 R 119 175 68c
MyMeg 300 R 139 300 46c
MyMeg 600 R 189 600 32c
MyGig 1,2 R 289 1,229 24c
MyGig 2,3 R 389 2,355 17c
MyGig 3 R 520 3,072 17c
MyGig 5 R 989 5,120 19c
MyGig 10 R 1,989 10,240 19c
MyGig 20 R 3,899 20,480 19c

The latest changes (from 1 June 2010) are marked in red.

These are BROADBAND STANDARD data bundles from Vodacom.  With BROADBAND STANDARD you get HSPA+ with HSUPA for FREE.

VALUE FOR MONEY:  Currently the MyGig 2.3 and the MyGig 3 data bundles offer the lowest in-bundle rate/MB.

NOTE:

  • the capabilities of the access device or cellphone you connect with, as well as the data coverage in the area you are connecting from, will determine the data speed at which you connect to the internet.
  • the out-of-bundle data rate is higher than the in-bundle rate when you purchase BROADBAND  STANDARD data bundles.  The out-of-bundle data rate for Prepaid/Top Up clients for all the above data bundles is R2.00 per MB.

Therefore, if you frequently use more data than the allocated data of your Broadband Standard bundle, you might consider buying a larger data bundle next time.

BROADBAND ADVANCED will be available from VTime Airtime by 1 July 2010. After this date you might consider migrating to Broadband Advanced as they offer the same in-bundle and out-of-bundle data rates, plus their data rates are very competitive with Broadband Standard packages.  Vodacom is making steady progress with updating all their towers to be able to provide their clients with Broadband Advanced.

Another effort by VTime to make recharging as easy and effective as possible!
