What has changed?

  • Vodacom adjusted their Prepaid data bundle sizes to align with the new Contract data bundle sizes launched on 1 August 2011.
  • In-bundle rates are reduced for all Prepaid STANDARD data bundles.
  • New bundles that are introduced are: MyGig 1 and MyGig 2.
  • Please note that these changes only apply to STANDARD data bundles.
  • ADVANCED data bundle prices are unchanged (see http://www.Vtime.co.za/index.php/data-direct/broadband-advanced).

So how do you buy these more affordable data bundles?

If you want to buy a Standard data bundle direct and pinless to your modem SIM:

  1. Register Vtime as a beneficiary on your internet banking.
Indicate your choice for Standard data by entering your modem cell number & “SDAT” (no spaces) as the Beneficiary Reference for your transaction.  For example:  0821234567SDAT.
  2. Look up the price for your chosen Standard data bundle in the table below.  EFT that specific amount to Vtime.
  3. You purchased Standard data bundle will be recharged direct and pinless to your modem SIM.  You will receive an SMS from Vodacom to confirm this recharge.

Please note:

  • Standard data bundle transactions requesting the previous Standard data bundle sizes/amounts will fail.  For example, if you transact R189 after 19 September 2011, it will create a problem, since this data bundle amount or size (MyMeg 600) is no longer available! Vtime will assist customers who transact with the incorrect data bundle amounts due to being unaware of the price changes.  However, to avoid disappointment and delays, ensure that you transact with the correct Beneficiary Reference and data bundle amount for your chosen data bundle.
  • Standard data bundle transactions requesting the new Standard data bundle amounts, but the Beneficiary Reference does not include the correct suffix (“SDAT”), will fail.  Vtime will assist customers who transact without the suffix due to being unaware of the Vtime system upgrade.  However, to avoid disappointment and delays, ensure that you transact with the correct Beneficiary Reference (e.g. 0821234567SDAT).
  • The out-of-bundle rate for all Prepaid STANDARD data bundles is still R2/MB (including VAT).

We hope that you will opt to buy your reduced Prepaid STANDARD data direct and pinless with Vtime!

Remember that your Beneficiary Reference must indicate your choice for Standard data (0821234567SDAT) and you need to EFT the rand value of your chosen data bundle to Vtime.

Example: You buy R220 with “0821234567SDAT” as Beneficiary Reference and you will be recharged with a MyMeg 750 Broadband Standard data bundle.  You will receive your data promptly and directly to your modem SIM.  Vodacom will send an SMS to your 3G modem SIM to confirm that you have been recharged.

VALUE FOR MONEY:

  • Currently the MyGig 3, MyGig 5, MyGig 10 and MyGig 20 all offer the lowest in-buntle rate/MB.

NOTE:

  • Data Direct is only for Prepaid and Top Up clients (unfortunately not Contract clients).
  • The capabilities of the access device or cellphone you connect with, as well as the data coverage in the area you are connecting from, will determine the data speed at which you connect to the internet.
  • Prepaid data customers can buy either Broadband Standard or Broadband Advanced data bundles.
  • Top Up data customers that are registered for a Broadband Standard Top Up package, can only top up with Broadband Standard data bundles.  In order to make use of Broadband Advanced, they will need to change to a Broadband Advanced Top Up package.
  • The out-of-bundle data rate is higher than the in-bundle rate when you purchase Broadband Standard data bundles.
  • Therefore, if you frequently use more than the allocated data of your Broadband Standard bundle, you might consider buying a larger Broadband Standard data bundle next time or maybe you need to switch to Broadband Advanced.

Another effort by Vtime to make recharging as easy and effective as possible!
